Vizcaya Daydream

One of our all time favorite venues in Miami is Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. With such a beautiful landscape, the view speaks for itself, but this year we teamed up with Joan Love of Love.Style.Events to create an unforgettable and romantic wedding reception for Alana and Max. The couple said their "I-Do's" as the sun set on a perfect evening below a classic white draped chuppa.
To finish off the look of the simple draping we added floral clusters in ivory and pale pink on the legs using lush hydrangea, delicate peonies and garden roses with touches of peach. Lining the aisle were groupings of twinkling candles in glass cylinders which played off of the acrylic chiavari chairs perfectly.
As guests moved through the massive mansion they were greeted by this modern styled arrangement on the place card table in one of our favorite white high gloss urns. The pale blue linen provided such a unique color compliment to the arrangements and fit in with the surroundings of the stately house beautifully.
The oversized reception tent was filled with drama! The ceiling was draped in white chiffon fabric and accented by pale pink lighting and crystal chandeliers along the length. Our teams covered the tables in soft ivory satin and ruffled rosette linens. The soft colors were accented perfectly with pink napkins. All of these colors were mirrored in the arrangements: lush florals of hydrangea, peonies, garden roses, tulips and dripping greens atop delicate crystal candelabras with twinkling pillar candles.
Smaller crystal candelabras accented the head tables and small floral clusters finished off the look.
We want to thank Maloman studios for the stunning photography. This was such a great event to create and it was captured perfectly!

A Modern Twist on a Traditional Ceremony

One of the highlights of working in the wedding industry is getting to experience all of the beautiful ceremonies from cultures across the globe. When we get the opportunity to combine multiple cultures into one event, it takes the cake! Working with Cymbidium Events we had the opportunity to design not one, but two lavish ceremonies for a loving couple in Coral Gables.
We started the day off with a traditional Catholic service at the Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral followed by a luncheon at the same venue. To add drama to the all ready beautiful sanctuary our team created oversized babies' breath garlands that draped and swagged across the pews on either side of the aisle
For the luncheon decor we focused on a color palette of soft yellow and white with a beautiful daisy overlay on a yellow satin underlay. The place card table showcased drift woood and delicate paper butterflies.
The evening portion of the celebrations were held at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables Fl. Our crew designed an over the top Mandap for a stunning Indian Ceremony. The oversized Mandap featured dripping orchid garlands and clusters of babies breath with a sparkling crystal chandelier hung from the center.
Guests arrived to the ceremony location to be greeted by a beautiful garden arch and more babies breath garlands running down the aisle.
As part of the Indian tradition, the bride walks down the aisle concealed from the groom. In order to achieve this our designers constructed oversized hedges at the rear of the ceremony space and along the mandap, which were later removed by members of the bridal party.
We continued the over the top decor into the cocktail hour, constructing two large manzanita trees adorned with dripping orchid garlands and vibrant purple vanda orchids on the place card table. Isn't this color combination just stunning!
Continuing the drama our designers went all out inside the large ballroom for dinner. Adorning the columns along the length of the ballroom were wreaths of luscious greens and more dripping orchid garlands. Over the dance floor hung an oversized babies' breath and orchid chandelier as LED lights sparkled below.
Each table was decorated with flickering candlelight in glass cylinders with reflective mirror table tops on all the tables and featured florals of soft white hydrangea, white phaleonopsis orchids and white cymbidium orchids..
Another focal piece of the evening was this enormous dessert display table with lush greenery, ferns and orchids as well as additional display stands covered in babies' breath and moss. The cake truly stood out as the centerpiece of the display.
This day was a remarkable experience to remember with beautiful florals at every turn!
We had a blast planning the decor with the bride and her family. What was your favorite detail of the day?

Sunshine and Citrus

Summertime means sunshine and citrus in South Florida. Bright yellows, cheery greens, lots of fresh citrus and summertime fruits. So many wonderful details of summer! Take all of these details and combine them together and you get the perfect recipe for a South Florida summertime wedding. This year we kicked off our summer with a fresh event in Key Largo, Florida at the Ocean Reef Club. Our bride Ashley wanted a laid back, relaxed and cheery vibe so we selected lemons to be the star of the decor!
We combined fresh lemons with bright greenery foliage and elegant florals of calla lilies and hydrangeas for a soft, garden like combination. Lush greenery and lemon garlands flanked the entrance into the reception as they wrapped around the columns.
Guests were welcomed to a place card table of carved wooden lanterns, crates of lemons and fresh topiaries.
To create a feature piece on the head table we ran a garland of lemon leaves and fresh lemons with clusters of hydrangea and calla lilies in rustic wooden crates. The entire garland was accented with lots of romantic candles on glass candlesticks. This look was complimented by fresh topiaries placed in the center of the guests tables. To add a cheery element to the all white room we incorporated yellow satin chair cushions on the chivari chairs and yellow and white striped napkins over rustic rattan chargers.
We continued the bright colors throughout the space and the cocktail hour with striped linens on the cocktail tables, cylinders of fruit on the bar, and foliage detail on the rustic chandeliers overhead.
Ashley chose to let the scenery speak for itself at her laid back ceremony but we included the bright yellows and dripping greens in her hand tied bouquet of white garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, dusty miller foliage and yellow calla lilies.
This was a great start to summer and such a fun and unique concept. All photos were taken by Hazel photography; linens were provided by Over the Top Linens and rentals were provided by Elements and Accents.

Garden on the Beach

If we had to pick the epitome of a picture perfect beach backdrop, Pierre's in Islamorada Florida would be our choice! This stunning white sand beach is one of our favorite wedding venues and we had the privilege of working there for a spectacular event just a few weeks ago.
Our beautiful bride Megan asked for that "just picked" garden style in bright spring tones to compliment the natural seascape of the Florida Keys. For the ceremony, we let the landscape do the talking, and used minimal florals along the aisle and at the alter. Delicate mason jars hung from the chairs and iron urns accented white peonies, green Queen Anne's Lace and luscious garden roses all in white and soft greens. As for the reception, we brought in the best that spring has to offer with hot pink and white peonies, vibrant orange dahlias, and soft lavender roses amidst lush ivy, Queen Anne's Lace, hydrangeas and blue thistle for a unique, colorful palette.
The star of our garden show were four oversized iron candelabras adorned with foliage of italian ruscus, dripping hanging amaranthus, soft plumosa and dark ivy which we accented with cascading phaelanopsis orchids and votive candles hung from glass orbs. The clear topped tent from Keys Audio Visual allowed these to contrast against the bright blue beach sky for a great combination!
Another highlight of the decor was the combination of the rustic farmhouse tables and cross back chairs from Unearthed Vintage. We paired these with a soft natural linen table cloth and a damask print napkin. Each napkin was accented with a sprig of rosemary, tied in twine, to add the perfect garden touch.
Atop each table we placed a combination of wooden wine crates, terra cotta pots, decorative crystal cups and mercury glass urns to create an eclectic and diverse table scape throughout the reception. Everything was finished off with lots of candles to create a soft glow during dinner.
We loved bringing the colors of a bright spring into sunny South Florida for this oceanside soiree! All photos courtesy of Maxime Photo Video in Miami Florida
